Snowball

The Snowball annual ski event is where the whole Snowball story all started. Every year a small group of professional people de-camps to a five star ski resort to share knowledge, search for ideas and answers but most importantly, escape the structures and pressure placed upon them by their jobs. The results have been life changing.

What really matters?

How many ‘friends’ do you have? Probably thousands of social media connections. 150 people who really count. And only a few who can ‘adjust’ your mind. Now imagine spending a long weekend away with a small group of people who are all as sharp as a knife and as open as an ocean. The pooling of fresh thinking and creative inspiration. That’s Snowball.

Who can change the world?

Anyone. Anyone with a great idea. You need faith - both in yourself and your thinking. You need to be kind, thoughtful, resourceful and generous of spirit.  It also helps if you’re part of a well-connected community who can help you reach influencers, find money, make change happen. In short, you need access to a force that will support you. That’s Snowball.

Climate positive

Speaking of changing the world… We are once again partnering with Ecologi to make Snowball a climate positive event, by funding wildflower, wetland and wildlife habitat restoration and carbon avoidance projects. Check out our virtual forest to see our impact to date. You can also contribute via this page, or as part of your registration.

Format

Besides the skiing (or boarding), Snowball organises lunches, dinners and après ski drinks at some of the best Alpine spots, interspersed with thought-provoking discussions hosted by members of the group. These activities are carefully designed to bring everyone together to exchange ideas and make meaningful connections. Even if you're not a skier, Snowball can provide alternative activities, from husky dog racing to wood carving.

Where

Wengen, Switzerland

A Snowball first, Wengen is a picturesque, car-free village perched on a sunny terrace in the Swiss Alps with panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. It offers a good mix of slopes from 1,200 to 2,500 metres, and is famous for the Lauberhorn downhill - the longest World Cup downhill course in the world. For non-skiers, there’s snowshoeing, curling, idyllic winter hikes, or a visit to Jungfraujoch - the “Top of Europe” - Europe's highest railway station at 3,454 metres, a fascinating world of ice, snow, and rock.

Grand Hotel Belvedere

The 5* Grand Hotel Belvedere was fully renovated just a year ago, and is exclusively ours for the duration of our stay. The hotel is laid out in two beautiful Belle Époque buildings, with thoughtfully designed interiors and unmissable views from the windows and balconies. There is also a Japanese-onsen inspired spa with a sauna, hammam and indoor pool, plus a cosy yoga yurt, perfect for soothing sore muscles after a day on the slopes. In the restaurants and bars, menus are guided by wild harvests, local ingredients and respect for the seasons.

All of the hotel’s 90 rooms have been completely refurbished, but the orientation of the rooms don’t lend themselves to sharing comfortably as a twin, so we recommend you sleep solo.

Getting to the hotel is part of the magic, as you board the legendary Wengernalp cogwheel train. From there, electric shuttles will take you the rest of the way, and also provide easy access to the lifts.
